Super Impressive/Super Easy Dressed-Up Brownies

Let’s say you’re having some company over last minute. You have to work all day and don’t have time to grocery shop but want to make a dessert to impress. This is the plan for you!

I highly, highly recommend that you always have standard brownie mix in the pantry, if you don’t just stock up when it’s on sale. From scratch brownies are very, very easy and worth the little bit of extra effort, but in a pinch, keep mix in the panty. There are a million ways to dress up plain brownies and this is one of my favorites.

Just mix it up like usual, but don’t use your normal 9×13, pour it into greased muffin tins about 3/4 full. Here is where the fun starts. Add whatever candy you have on hand. If you have some with a gooey center you get serious bonus points- I found Hershey’s Caramel Kisses on clearance and the grocery store. Perfect!

Then just “smush” them down in the center (technical cooking term there) Bake for about 20 minutes a you get the most decedent caramel filled, gooey brownie that is kind of a hybrid between a brownie and a molten cake. If you really want to go all out, serve it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and you are sure to wow your special guests. Delicious!

Warning: these are MUCH "gooeyer" than they appear. I promise!

Here’s a bonus option for you. Do you have leftover candy canes? Crush them up and throw them on top of a plain brownie.
You want to bake these for about 20 minutes as well.
Let them cool just a bit and them serve. So yummy, so easy! Do you have a favorite little trick for dressing up your plain brownies? Please share!
